This community hall was located within a very tight site with dwelling houses all round. To reduce the impact to the neighbouring properties we worked closely with an acoustic consultant to ensure that the building mitigated against break out noise and this has proven to be very successful. The building was dug into the landscape and has been designed in a shallow roof. We picked up the brick and render colours of neighbouring properties to complement its surroundings. This community building was designed to include a cafe and hub with folding aluminum doors to an external seating area, a main hall, a kitchen with a servery area to the cafe and main hall, small meeting room, office and toilet facilities.
